Suzlee Ibrahim latest work from his Solo Exhibition at Shah Alam Gallery recently. The large works were inspired from his trip to China thus the great red wall.
Always love his abstract that kind of different from others. But this time can only look and envy the works that listed at RM 20K each.

Latest Works

WANITA PASAR PAYANG
.

WANITA BERTUDUNG
.
DARI KECIL HINGGA DEWASA
.
Managed to finish three more works during my rest and relax hours.

Wanita Pasar Payang reflects the spirits of entrepreneurship among the ladies of Pasar Payang in Kuala Terengganu. I was always amazed at their hard working and business minded attributes. They were the living example of what self independence is all about.

Wanita Bertudung reflects the current lifestyle of Muslims women in Malaysia. The majority of them now wear tudung instead of the opposite few decades ago. The tudung was never a hindrance for them to progress in career but instead enhance their image and self esteemed besides fulfilling the religious requirements.

Dari Kecil Hingga Dewasa reflects the journey from childhood to adulthood. The playful and carefree days were replaced by commitment to achieve knowledge and education. Finally we have to face the world in the challenging working environment and hoping to achieve independence in monetary and living.

Gerak Sumbang

Working on the new strokes
.
Lately I have been using pastel on papers to experiment my ideas and works. The latest being Gerak Songsang which was inspired by the works of Khalil Ibrahim. Since it’s too expensive and not easy to get Khalil works lately I better start producing my own works that reminds me of the master painter. It will take while before I master the strokes but I am happy with my first attempt.

I will keep the Gerak (figurative) and Ombak (Landscape) abstract series going on paper and later produced the good ones on canvas. Watch up for my next piece.

2 Piece Done.... Experimenting Waves

Gerak - Tumbuk & Tepis .....

Well finally my second piece " Gerak- Tumbuk & Tepis " done. It’s looks different then my first draft but then that was art as you progress in painting new energy and imagination creeps in to give the final result.
.
While the drive and enthusiasm is still high I proceed with new experiment on “Ombak" or waves. The subject matter is close to my heart as it relates to sea, my second home. I displayed the experiment on " Ombak " for your pleasure ( its pastel on paper ). Once I am comfortable, it will be transferred to Acrylic on canvas.

Gerak ... Tumbuk & Tepis

Gerak ... Tumbuk & Tepis in progress
..

Same piece with flash on
.
I am enjoying my painting with the second piece almost done. It’s a continuation of my Gerak Series titled Tumbuk & Tepis. In life we have to do all sorts of movements to survive and counteract the bad moves by our enemy. Like in silat at times we have to Tepis while in another we have to Tumbuk to survive. The second painting reflects the reality of life where we just can’t stand still to survive this challenging world.

I have been trying to make the figures disappear from the painting but not quite successful yet. Maybe the third painting will be pure abstracts without any figures in it... well I have to go through the process before making it full abstracts. Have been looking at Yusuf Ghani, Khalil Ibrahim and Latiff Mohidin paintings to learn my way in achieving my strokes to full abstracts.

Gerak Panglima ... Done

Almost there.....
.

Gerak Panglima done..... Acrylic on canvas
.
After a few make over and touch up I have decided to sign my first work. It’s done since the owner wanted it this way without further refinement. I am very happy to sign off the first work despite wanting to make more touch up on it.

While I was finishing the piece my daughter and significant half were also having a go at the painting to keep me company and motivated. They came up with beautiful paintings on flower pot and landscapes.

Well I will start on second piece soon to capture these painting moods.

My first Acrylic..

First Stage....

Second Stage..... lets see what happen next !
..
I have decided to have a go at acrylic painting after getting much encouragement from Pak Zawi determination and passion towards it. It was more difficult then I thought despite having a go at abstract rather the realist style. Still finding my ways with the most suitable and perfect strokes.

Well I am not finish yet with it yet but I displayed it here for your view. Being my first painting I meant so much to me despite being far from perfect. It shows three pesilat getting at each other and I named it Gerak Panglima. Let hope it looks much better when I finally finish with it. Anyway the painting has been booked by someone that I could not refuse.
